Black Country Rock

Written by former Longbridge worker Giovanni ‘Spoz’ Esposito who then went on to become Birmingham’s Poet Laureate, this ‘Bostin’ musical was performed in Bartley Green by members of local youth clubs. They had a remarkably short time period to learn their lines and songs, but the filmed premiere was a slick, hilarious journey through the life of a wannabe rock star desperate for the big time.

The film was commissioned by Birmingham Youth Service and shows the full performance in all its hilarity!
